ALEX HERRON TECHNOLOGY NERD
Curiositycomes standard.
I’m Alex. I like understanding what’s under the hood—and making the result easier for the people using it.
A healthy respect for the details.
An unhealthy number of tabs.
Systems are interesting.
What they make possible is the point.
01 / OPEN TABS
A few things
I get into.
Choose a topic.
There’s usually a good question behind it.
IDENTITY & ACCESS
The right access.
Fewer hoops.
How do you make access feel simple while keeping it secure? I’m interested in the connections between people, accounts, and the tools they need.
GOOD SECURITY SHOULD MAKE SENSE TO THE PERSON USING IT.
MAC + WINDOWS
Different systems.
Same human needs.
I enjoy the details that make a device feel ready: a sensible setup, useful tools, and support that explains the why as well as the how.
THE OPERATING SYSTEM IS ONLY PART OF THE EXPERIENCE.
NETWORKS
Behind every
“it just works.”
There’s a lot happening between a device and a destination. Understanding those connections—and where they get complicated—is a rabbit hole I’m happy to follow.
RELIABILITY IS BUILT IN THE DETAILS.
AUTOMATION
Do it thoughtfully.
Then do it less.
What’s worth automating? The repetitive work that takes attention away from something better. First understand the process; then find a cleaner way through it.
LESS BUSYWORK. MORE ROOM TO THINK.
02 / HOW I THINK
The best starting point?
A better question.
Before changing the setup, I want to understand the person, the problem, and what a better day would look like.
- 01
Listen to the actual problem.
The first description rarely tells the whole story. Ask, listen, and leave room for the detail that changes everything.
- 02
Look at the connections.
A device, an account, a network, a habit. Step back far enough to see how the pieces affect each other.
- 03
Make the next step clearer.
Keep the solution practical. Explain it, follow through, and make things easier for the next person.
THE PERSON BEHIND THE TABS
Serious about the details.
Still a nerd at heart.
I like untangling the confusing setup, spotting a needless step, and learning why something behaves the way it does. Technology is the interest. Helping people feel comfortable with it is what makes the work worthwhile.
03 / KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING
What are you
figuring out?
A project, an opportunity, or a wonderfully specific tech question.
